    RIP Maggie Mae
I lost my special girl Maggie May 13 2021. She chose me at the humane society 8 years ago, and those were the best 8 years of my life. She had stomach cancer, and she passed away peacefully at home with me. I miss her dearly. She made it to 11 years old.

Aw, I'm so sorry for your loss- she was a beautiful dog, & what a sweet face. I had to say good-bye to one of my dogs this summer too (in July), my Casey was 16 years old, & she'd been with me since I adopted her at 6 mos. of age from a shelter in So. Calif., where I used to live. My dogs have always come from shelters- it would never feel right to me to buy a dog from a breeder & perpetuate the pet over-population, not when there's so many fine animals that need homes. I still have one dog now, he's 14, but he's a smaller dog & he's still quite spunky for his age. The larger dogs tend to have shorter lives, which is truly a shame. My Casey was medium size- about 46 lbs. Rest in peace, Maggie Mae.
