New Snake!

What did this "$1200" snake look like compared to a normal ball python?

All you need to fit in the cage is two tight fitting hides and a small water dish.

The "1200$" snake was a orange color with like white spots maybe (defiantly orange), i knew i wasn't going to purchase a snake that large as i am just starting out so i did not pay much attention. He looked EXTREMELY healthy though and was very very beautiful.

Regarding the linked cages i am almost positive those are the cages that the local exotic reptile store sells. When i went to visit the store they had like TONS of tubs with all sorts of ball pythons. I was also offered a snake to have as a pet that had a kink in his back. It was said it was a 1200 dollar snake but wanted to be sold to a person that had no intention on breeding. The snake was eating healthy and showed no signs of pain. Although this would be a great deal i am looking to by a hatching so i can experience everything, and grow attached to the snake.

One question is do you use under the tank heaters for these type of enclosures? substrate? Looks so mini i feel like it will be hard to fit everything inside the cage! but i also have been learning that Ball pythons are shy (aka love to be in small places.)

This is a learning experience though i am just so excited to get a snake and want to be well prepared! Still have to decide on a morph though might just get a Regular BP.

1200 dollar snake sounds a little strange if it wasn't a morph and was not meant for breeding... IMO
I would get from a good breeder, you can get normal ball pythons for 50-60 dollars online.

Probably an albino of some sort.

Also it was a morph, not a normal ball python. Also i have considered just getting a normal ball from them and its only about 40 dollars i believe. They seem to have there act together the first day he try explaining to me how different morphs are created and ressive and dominate traits ect. They are breeders as well they are not like a petco that buys and sells. The employee jason showed me his killer bee his normal bee his spider and all sorts of morphs it was very enjoyable. He made me feel like i owned the shop brining me out back to see all his snakes and the breeder cage for the mice ect...

Their prices are very fair from what i have seen on the net (not advertising). Lots to choose from but i can see how this hobby and passion can get expensive quick!

I think a normal BP is right for me as of now, but time will tell.

You would use a UTH or flexwatt heat tape. It has been mentioned a few times already in this thread

I know it has been mention but i did not know if there were any exceptions to this type of tank cause it is plasit? (looks metal) i dunno =P haha also i have seen the flexwatt heat tape my neighbor back home says he uses it for his snake.

I just like a good old plastic tub., A zoomed uth on the bottom hooked up to a tsat.

$6 for tub
$20 for uth
$50 for tstat

That is if your buying cheap tstat

Well like i said won't be getting the snake for about another week or two! But the first step is the cage and making sure it is decent! When i go to my local breeder i am gonna see what he sets me up with.
