I had great luck today, went to a few spots around dusk and caught, 6 Juvenile Brown Water Snakes , 1 Juvenile Green Water Snake, and a Brown Ribbon Snake.

All 3 snakes have a healthy appetite and aren't feisty, very calm and beautiful snakes. What do you guys think?

It's Florida haha. I used to do it all the time with my buddy who is studying for his Zoology and Herpatology degrees. We used to just keep them for a couple of weeks at a time though. If you saw just how many lizards, frogs, toads, snakes, and anything else we could get our hands on, you'd probably crap a brick.

That ribbon snake is gorgeous! So are the water snakes. They make decent pets for sure. I miss herping in the everglades. Which coast are you on?

Nvm, I just saw where the newspapers are. I just moved from Ft. Myers myself. Where did you live?

    Re: Everglades Herping

i must be going to the wrong places when down there all i ever find is tree frogs, snails, 2 geckos, and crap loads of anoles. well do see tons of gators but never tried to catch any and and saw a scarlet king in a pool at the resort we were at but everybody on staff wouldn't let anybody go out there cause they said it was a coral snake but its pattern was red touching black

any hints to some good places when we go down there again we are usually in the Miami area was thinking of the big open lot across the street from the resort but they had warning signs for rattle snakes up all over it

did try herping on one of the keys not sure of name it's been years ago but it had camp grounds on it saw a huge gecko not sure of type it was high on the wall in the showers and only came out late at night but did catch a skink when we rolled up our tent it was under the tent so went home with close to 50 anoles couple different
i just like to argue and get you riled up dont take it to mean i dont like you or what I'm agueing about. I'm doing it for the joy of argueing dont anybody like good old fashion debates
