dr del - that pic is the left hand corner of the scale on this pic:
It looks to me like the scale was turned inside out when she shed and that the image you've asked about shows some kind of "tearing" on the inside out edge...
(BTW - how did you get the image to post large in your post?)
LadyOhh - if you've got a couple of spare hours on the SEM I'd totally recommend it - This was the first time I'd used the SEM - lots of downtime on it at the mo as the students are off! Lucky me
