    Big Hrmph...

Well... Ya'll know how I went and bought one of the VE-175 tubs from Reptile Tubs for $60?? Well, I did, and I cut a square in the lid and replaced it with hardware cloth...

    Yep...

Just go ahead and smack me...

I went to WalMart yesterday(Saturday), went in the garden section...

    AND LOW AND BEHOLD!!!

Iris VE-175 tubs! I could have died... $20!!!!! Grrrrr.... Major grrrr! So yeah... I bought one just to make myself feel a bit better... It's the SAME tub, except the lid is green instead of clear. Whoop! Dee! Friggin'! Doo!

It's the same tub. 46 gallon, locking lid, same length x width x height... And it's an XMAS TREE BOX!! I had to say to the Wally World employee that no, these are not tree boxes, they are snake tubs. He just laughed I told him I was serious, haha.

    *Walks off laughing crazily*

So yeah, that was my stupid moment of the day. And no, Becky couldn't have waited for a few more weeks to get a tub for Ruari... Nope... HAD to get the $60 one from ReptileTubs. Oooohhhhhh well.

So darnit, I guess I will have to go buy ONE MORE of those tubs and make a rack... Or something. And fill them with snakeys. I guess that is the best part about finding huge, clear tubs with locking lids.

    Night guys!

Well geesh crud Becky! That's just frustrating isn't it! On the up side I'm going to start watching our local WalMart for one of those big tubs myself for our own future BCI. Thanks for the heads up that this time of year Wally World stocks such large tubs for the Xmas season.

    Re: Big Hrmph...

What are the width and length on those? Are they big enough for a full size BCI? I still have Lola in the tub I got her in (when she was Sprocket) and am wondering if I should get something larger. I don't know the dimensions of the tub she is in, offhand, and am at work so can't just go check. Thanks!

Okay, I think that is bigger than what I have. Will that be large enough for full grown boa? Our Lola is a about 5 1/2 feet, I think. You know how hard they are to measure! I've been figuring on getting a larger enclosure, and that will do her for life, sounds good to me.

    Re: Big Hrmph...

That tub should be fine for a full grown male BCI.....but probably not a big girl You would be better off building a custom enclosure for a female.
