I've taken the liberty of reposting a pic of your enclosure from October. If your set up has changed substantially, please post a current photo. I've never used CHEs myself, but these pics will help those that do advise you. Thanks.https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...97df2b985f.jpg

If it did the job you could replace it with another CHE or with a deep heat projector (DHP) of similar wattage.

I use a RHP (clearly visible in this photo) and heat tape (under the tub). There is a whole in the pvc shelf that allows my snake to go from one to the other.

if you suspect it’s a wattage issue you could use a thermostat controller that way it won’t go over board on its own? i use em and they’re p handy

RHP? I know it no excuse for not looking it up even though I had him about 3 years because of a crazy work schedule every day is a new day to learn and I have learned some to a lot with him and other people will look at it soon

FYI, I like using backless indoor-outdoor carpet for some of my snakes, & I've been doing so for many years; it's a very "green" option, as it lasts virtually "forever", it's hand-washable, can be disinfected, dries fast (or can be used damp) & offers excellent traction for snakes. It also allows UTH heat to rise thru it easily. ;)
