We catch the majority of spammers before they even post once here...and almost all of the rest we catch immediately after they make their first attempt to spam. But there's always a few who slip through the initial spam nets....and now they have a new technique where they will spam the Private Message boxes. Since we can't see those like we do the posts made in public forums, we can't know it's happened unless it is reported.
So please...if you ever receive spam in your PM box, report it immediately. You can FWD it to any staff member. A thread here in Site Info is ok, too....that way anyone else who received the same one might know its been taken care of. Whatever you prefer. However you do it, every reported spammer is one less that will stick around to annoy us. If you're not sure...go ahead and let us know and we'll check it out for you.
And one more special note...If you EVER receive a PM signed as being from an Administrator of this site, that PM will be directly from myself (JLC), rabernet, Nate, mlededee, dr del, or BP.net Admin. The username will be RED and no other color. No one else on this site has, or will ever have, the authority to sign themselves as being Site or System Administrators in any way shape or form. If they do, please contact us immediately.
The staff does its best to keep the streets all clean and tidy...but sometimes we need your help to pick up all the stray bits of litter that blow through from time to time.
