    I don't think solid pine wood like this presents much of a problem for snakes- especially since I assume this is too large to be inside the enclosure- so with air circulation, it's really not an issue- not like pine shavings that would outgas every which way. If you're worried about it, you could coat it with polyurethane or other pet-safe waterproofing coating. I think you found some great ideas, actually-
