Should I continue to give my ball python his antibiotics?

So, I have a ball python that I thought had a suspected respiratory infection cause he was whistling. He's been whistling for months, but he hasn't shown any other signs of an RI. I just assumed it was still in the early stages. He's a black pastel albino het pied.

I've been doing research and found that it's common in black pastels to have a duckbill, and that causes a deformity in the nostrils, causing the whistle. He does have a duckbill, his snout (is that right?) is a lot rounder than my 2 girls are. It in fact looks like a duckbill.

He has 2 more doses and his whistle hasn't gotten worse or better. Should I keep giving it to him or stop? I don't want to give him injections if nothing is wrong.

    Thank you!

Nevermind! I know it was a dumb question, but I don't know if I can delete threads. I'm just gonna give his last 2 doses to be safe.

At this point, that's what I'd do. Stay the course so you don't cause resistant germs. I agree that it might not be an RI, but better to be safe. Sometimes if snakes don't have adequate humidity they can also have some pieces of old dried up shed* (or debris from substrate) lodged in their nostrils too. *In case you're unaware, BPs shed the lining of the outer part of their nostrils when they shed their whole skin- those bits can get left behind & cause whistling sounds when they breathe.

And no, you can't delete a thread. It's really not a dumb question anyway. For every person that asks a question, there's a bunch more "lurking" & wondering the same things.

Ah, thank you so much! I really just needed someone else's input. I didn't know if it was bad to stop or keep going. I just feel bad having to poke him.

    Thank you again!
