Dented eye
I know that typically a dented eye means a retained eye cap.
Has anybody ever had a dented eye that wasn't an eye cap? I only ask because it's had to have been well over a month since the snake last shed, and I just noticed the dent today (I've been handling him nearly a month, if it had been there before, I would've noticed it.)

Re: Dented eye
Dented eyes are due to low humidity, make sure you provide 50%50%-60% at all time (this mean having an accurate reading with a digital hygrometer)

Yeah dented eye is usually caused by too little humidity. Bump up the humidity and it will go away.

Re: Dented eye
That totally makes sense. The other day, my humidity dropped from 55% down to 32%. I'm not sure what happened, but it's back up to 55 now.
Any idea what would make it fluctuate so much? Since I set up the tub, it's been totally steady until now.

Re: Dented eye
My one guy gets a dented eye every once in a while. Ill notice it after he's been pressing his head up against the tub side or something.
I just spray the tub a few times and the next time I check on him its gone. His humidity always stays up above 50% too.

Re: Dented eye
This morning, before she left for work, my wife asked me to go downstairs and see if she had the dehumidifier set properly. I gave her a funny look, and she said that the basement had leaked several days ago, and she'd been running it full-blast since then.
I think I figured out where the humidity drop came from
