    Granite? Yes, no, maybe?

This is the first ball python I ever bought(I currentally have 2)
I am curious if it might be a granite. It is hard to see the speckling in the picture because spike didn't want to hold still =)
So just letting you know there is far more speckling on the sides than the pictures show. It also has a broken stripe on the back and for the most part a solid white belly.

It also has very little blushing on it's black minus it's head and it has white coming up it's sides on the stripes.......I want to say it's like blushing but I cannot think of the proper name, it is on almost every stripe too.

No, he doesn't look like a granite, but he's still a nice looking boy! Here's a great resource to explain what a granite is:

    Re: Granite? Yes, no, maybe?

It sure looks alot like one according to the guide. It has all those attributes.

it doesn't like to hold still for pictures so alot end up blurry, here is a better shot of the granite speckles.
Oh and I didn't mention, he/she has a light eye color compaired to my other bp.(the look kinda like gold) Hard to take a picture of them though.

His belly doesn't look as clear as the one in the example. Also, does he have the requisite neck break in the first stripe by his neck?

I may be wrong, but the speckling you see looks like what I see in my normal male. I still don't believe yours is a granite. Doesn't mean he's still not a great boy or special!

I am not exactly sure what defines a break, in the guide it says that variation 2 had a small break in the stripe but honestly I can't tell where it is.

Not sure if this will help, but here's a pretty good example of a granite as a reference ...

    Hope this helps.

I don't think that it is granite; see how there are more solid spots made of multiple scales in Adam's snake?
A true genetic (or not proven, too) would have come from someone advertising it as such, most likely.
