    Re: Gtp

best way to transport a GTP is get a fairly deep rubbermaid or sterilite container , put a perch in it ( stick or branch ) something of that nature .
and put a little water in the bottom of container (soaked paper towel will work ) and keep it very warm .
I love it when people tell me, "You should think before you speak!" I'm like, "I did. It's what I think and I really don't give a crap what other people think."

When transporting it i suggest you use a snake bag or a deli cup with paper towels in it. Perched while in a moving vehicle is a horrible idea, imagine being on an hour long rollercoaster ride, thats what it would be like for the chondro. Depending on the state your in, you may want to pick up some hand warmers at walmart as well. Anymore questions, dont hesitate to ask.

thats another way as well to transport but bags are usually used to ship not just to take from 1 place to another . most cars offer a smooth and comfortable ride so the "rollercoaster " affect isnt that much in play .
i have transported many GTP's and have never had a problem . but everyone has their own opinion and their own way of doing things ..

    Re: Gtp

How old is the animal? Not sure about plastic bamboo, i use live crape myrtle branches for all my chondro's, they are the perfect perch in my opinion. How old is the animal, and what type of enclosure do you have ready for it. While traveling one more thing, if you have it in the bag, put the bag in a box. As little stress on the animal is what you are going for. No loud bassy music either. How exciting, this makes me want another one!!!

Sorry but i imagine them struggling to stay perched comfortably while in a moving vehicle. My humble opinion.

    Re: Gtp

once a gtp is on a perch its on there . unless the snake has some kind of neuro problem, or bad equilibrium ,it will keep it comfortably on the perch .
the less stress the better and the most stress easing for a GTP is coiled on its perch ..

but again like i said everyone has their own way of doing things and their own opinion . my way has worked for many years without problem as im sure your way also has same outcome . i offered a way that works well cause he asked for help . hes heard both methods and he can choose which way he wants to do it .
