Please help!
Our 9 year old cat, Caddy, is having neurological problems! She was lying on my bed when her head and neck started twitching! Like, when you get a crick in your neck, except her head would crick and keep twitching to one side. Also, her eyes and eyebrows twitch when she's purring. My mom refuses to take her to the vet, does anyone know what it might be?

Seizure?
I'd say that cat needs to get to the vet ASAP.

Re: Please help!
It's not quite a seizure, but a neck twitch. My mom thinks it's because of a B12 deficiency , but I don't.

Re: Please help!
I'd leave the problem solving to the Veterinarian. No offense please....I'm a big advocate of the vet with any problem.
Best of luck to you and your kitty.

Re: Please help!
Seizures come in all shapes and sizes. What might seem like a tick can be a seizure. Your cat should get blood tests, etc. Might, might not, need meds. I have a dog that has a seizure every once in while (appears that she is drunk). So far, no meds prescribed, but if happens more often, meds will have to be considered.

Re: Please help!
Would your mother refuse to take you to the doctor if you were sick?
I think your mom needs to step up to the plate not only to do the right thing but to show her children by example what it means to take responsibility over something.

Re: Please help!
Well if your mom even agrees that there is something wrong she should take her to the vet. At least take her to a shelter and see if they know of any discounted vet exams.

Re: Please help!
Almost all local humane society's either offer discounted vet exams or can give you a list of local vets that will work with a family if there's a financial reason that a pet isn't receiving health care. Heck if you have to offer to clean cages to get that cat seen, please do so. It must be very upsetting for you to watch your cat like this and have your mom refusing to deal with it. Please encourage your mom to do the right thing by the cat and by you and please let us know how things went.

Re: Please help!
I hope your cat is getting better. I am also a huge supporter of vet treatment. It could be a variety of things
Could have threw a DVT (blood clot)
Stroke
Seizure disorder
Even could have goten into something poisoness. You would be amazed at the things I have seen cats get into while vet teching.
Please try and have your mom bring him / her for vet TX.
I hope all works out well
Rusty
