    Adrenaline's Breeding Project

yo everyone! today i set up a cage in my garage with 1.3 mice. The plan is to breed mice until my ball pythons are large enough for ASF's, then I'll switch over to those guys.

I set everything up today (Saturday), they seem comfortable and happy. How often will a male mouse "get freaky" with a female? I understand gestation is ~3 weeks, but will the male get busy with his first female the first week I have them?

btw I will post pictures here and there...very open to suggestions from everyone

As long as your females are old enough, they should be fine. Just give them about 1 month.

Do you find it more effective to keep the pregnant female with the others or give her own cage and be isolated during birth?

I like to separate mine, because it limits the possibility of the other mothers, or the buck, harming the babies, or stressing out the mother.

If you want to do this, just pull the females out as soon as they look viseably pregnant. Should be very easy.
