Not saying its not mites but they sound like chiggers. Not sure how they would get on rodents, but it could be clover mites. If its clover mites then I doubt there is anything to worry about. Chiggers on the other hand may be something to take serious and get out your home
ASAP.

Yea they're outside since I ever noticed em .. we actually caught a few of them in a sterile urine cup lol but I got a magnifying glass out and really they look exactly like spider mites.. to me and my husband .. but what is chiggers and how or where do they come from?

Also husband is really wanting to breed our own feeders.. now I'm pretty turned off from the idea.. so I looked up chiggers and what we found has way more rounded butts/bodies those chiggers look more flat bodied to me but idk I never really seen any of these before I mean I have randomly seen lol spider mites outside before

The only kind of mites that will harm a snake is a snake mite. They look like poppy seeds to the naked eye.
The red mites could possibly be rodent mites. They are harmless to snakes, but may transfer to humans. They are sort of redish, but not BRIGHT red. More like a dark ruby red-brown from my experience... If they are rodent mites, the mice should have dandruff and possible patches of thin or missing fur
If they are clover mites, then they are harmless to humans, mice, and snakes. The Bright red description sounds like this.
