Ackie Heating
So Im moving my ackie into a new terrarium in an effort to reduce energy costs. Its pretty much the same size but Im going from one meter tall to sixty cm. This means a lot less air and unused space to heat.
I am however still thinking of changing with what I heat and wanted some opinions if anyone thinks something yould be better. I currently have a 70w Bright Sun HID lamp, this was not enough so there is also two 100w che's to get the hotspot to about 48 or so as well as the air temp high enough. I also have a cpf uv bulb.
Now the bulbs in the new terrarium will be about 40cm closet so I dont think I will need as much but that also means that the area the bright sun bulb covers will be too small. I am thinking of switching to two bulbs of some other type to cover the hotspot and keep one che for air temp if necessary( will be in winter, especially at night). Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Is this terrarium glass? If so, thats why you are having heating issues. Switch to a homemade plywood cage or purchase a pvc cage.

The old, and the new terrarium are both wood. I live in Germany, energy is extremely expensive here.
