Get a whole bunch of excess males and keep em separate from your main group, to feed off while your colony's kicking up. it'll take a few months for your colony roaches to get the hang of it and start reproducing. Are you doing it for yourself, to get going locally/commercially, what's your plan?

When you want a population explosion toss in some fresh fruit(oranges/tangerines seem to work best). It worked so well for my discoids that I dumped the water crystals altogether and just used fruits for their moisture needs.
