    Exclamation Temperature worries

I like my room to be on the cold side (68-70 F) but I know I need to keep my ball python's terrarium at an ambient temp of 80-84 F I have a UTH for his warm side (it's thermostat is set to a 88-92 F range) I am currently using a heat lamp to keep the terrarium a bit warmer than my room, but I'd rather not use it because I difficulty with the humidity getting too high. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a second UTH on his cool side that would have a temperature of around 79-83, would this be a good idea?

I will bet the temp of the surface your snake can touch isn't even 88 degrees.
How are you measuring your temperatures?
Yes, you can run two UTH but your ambients still wouldn't get to where you need them AND you will need a second thermostat unless you have a dual.

A digital thermostat tells me what the UTH's temp is. What temp should I set it to then? And how should I go about getting the ambient temp correct?

Sorry I also should have said that I use a analog thermometer to measure the room's temp as of now, but will get get a digital once I have the money

Your thermostat tells you the temperature of the probe not the surface on the other side.
