    Boas and Beyond Reviews? Experiences?

Has anyone purchased an animal from Boas and Beyond own by Ed Arnold?

I came across his store on Morph Market, but he is also on facebook.

Re: Boas and Beyond Reviews? Experiences?

I made an account on fauna to view the thread but none was found and I could not find him with a search. But so far he's been good with communication I'm trying to close a deal, just waiting on a response.

Weird, the link I posted had search results for the words "Arnold" and "Boas" together, and 2 of the results pulled back his name and business... but that link seems no good today. Huh!

    Review of transaction

Hello, just sharing my experience with Boas and Beyond- I decided to just add it on to my inquiry.

I came across the ad for a female Enchi on Morpmarket. I had been wanting to add one to my collection for a while. The price was right and so I sent an inquiry. Got a quick response and so I committed to business. Asked the usual questions: picture, genes, and diet. I did forget to ask for the weight. (my bad ) After a short I got the feeling that I was not dealing with a full time breeder as he mentioned his work after a break in communication. No bid deal, Ive had awesome experiences from hobby breeders, a few of my hardiest bp come from small hobby breeders (topic for another thread maybe). Now typically what makes me fully commit to purchasing an animal is some sort of record keeping that documents what I’m buying. Not really sure what they’re called, some say genetics card. I typically just shoot an example of one to the breeders. The example is one I got from Justin at JKR. Pretty simple, breeders in the past who not typically make them for the customers don’t mind whipping one up. (Shout out to AME ) Any who, these sheets typically contain information like animal ID, Clutch ID, Parent ID, pictures ect. He agreed to make one after showing him the example, so we pressed on. Made payment and my dear Enchi was on the way. He was able to ship her out with perfect timing by making adjustments at my request. It was a crazy week.
The transaction ultimately felt gritty and laggy. I felt apprehensive when realizing that he was a small breeder, if he’s not than I dint get the impression, /but/ I’m kinda a fan of small time breeders since I’ve had awesome experiences. This seemed different though, almost detached.
However, my typical optimistic demeanor went down hill upon receiving her. She was in a shipping bag in a snake-shipping box, that’s it. There was not heat source which I kinda get because its summer? But don’t these boxes travel by airplane? Doesn’t it get really cold in cargo planes? There was no shredded paper or extra foam to keep her from bashing and slamming around. The info sheet he made consisted of five lines on a sheet that the poor girl peed on, and he could not produce it of digits when requested. I am glad he was able to produce this info though.
As I mentioned above I forgot to ask for the weight. When I brought her home she weighed in at a whopping 131grams. When I asked about diet he mentioned several times that he’s not a power feeder and that he fed her every 7-10 days “now that it’s warming up”. This is what was most shocking to me, 131 grams seems very small for a bp that hatched over half a year ago.
I don’t believe I’m a power feeder either since I feed at the same rate and by 6 months mine were pushing 400+ grams. I know ball pythons grown at different rates but I can’t help to think that this Enchi was under fed. What are your thoughts?

So, it’s been a couple of weeks in QT, she’s weighed in at 114grams today. She seems to be in good health, she moves around, and it absolutely terrified of me. She’s refused her f/t fuzzy rat. Not a surprise, making the switch is difficult. I’m looking forward to fattening her up.

    Pictures to follow.
