five month old ball feeding strike?
So, my five month old ball python, Iason, seems to be on a feed strike, he's refused food for a month now and hasn't lost weight. I have tried an entire week of being 100% covered along with putting him in a small container alone with it and tried scenting it with chicken because apparently he would eat for that but so far no interest. Any tips? I want to start handling him because he's pretty person shy.

What are you feeding him? Whats your husbandry like? How often are you offering food? Donīt start handling until you can get him consistently eating again.

Ive offered ones smaller than he can take and ones at a size perfect for him (cant recall grams off top of my head). Humidity and such are good but I am waiting for a couple of things just to make it perfect. (He has basically same stuff and set up to our other ball python and she eats great)

You are going to have to be more specific... Temps and humidity, what size mouse (by its common name) are you offering?

For one thing, offering too often only causes more stress (for the snake, I mean...yours doesn't count, lol) so when a snake has been refusing food, don't re-offer more frequently than every 2 weeks. You'll waste less food that way too, but it's actually better for the return of your snake's ability to relax & eat.

I do plan to start waiting every two week and keep a sharp eye on his weight
