Re: General carpet questions
jags are a morph (see my red phase jag in my avatar and pictures) the others are subspecies... part of the morelia spilota complex.
there are many different phases, breeding lines, and morphs of each and many types of carpets are intergrades between two or more subspecies.

So what would you say is the most common kind of carpet to see out there for sale?

What is the deal with these guys and how do people usually breed them? What should I look for if I'm going to a reptile expo?

I will go with what has already been mentioned. Jags are a coastal carpet morph that has been cross bred to everything. Hence; jungle jag, diamond jag, jaya jag, etc.
There are some of us out here still producing pure forms of carpets, we are just a growing minority. LOL!
I guess you really need to determine if you are looking for pure stock are cross-bred stock.
I sent you a PM.
