Mini Cage for JCP
I've recently been shopping around for a rack for my bps and possibly a nice cage for my jcp. Today I saw the Mini cage on reptilebasics site and I was curious until how old/long could a young jcp stay in one of those?

Thanks

I would say about two, maybe three, years depending on your feeding regime.

I feed her one small rat fuzzy/pup a week. What would you reccomend?

It depends on her size and body bulk. You want to feed an appropriately sized rodent that is approximately the same size as the largest place on her body. Once a week is fine for a juvie.

Thats what I thought. I always go with the 1.5 X there widest girth for all my snakes!
So would you all reccomend this cage or something else?
She is currently in a 10 gal

i'd feed probably 1.5 times the width of the body, especially for smaller carpets... they may seem big but trust me, carpets are nothing like balls in this respect. they can take it down easily and digest down within 24 hours. i feed mine every 5-7 days or whenever they appear to be very hungry at this age.

Yes, ours takes small rats every 7-8 days and they go down easy, but it's like a carnival watching it - they look like they should be too big for him, but aren't. Our JCP is probably 2 yrs old, guessing due to it's size b/c it was "sold" to us as under a yr old just 2 months ago.
I think that's a nice looking tank, but you might find your JCP outgrows it rather quickly. I'd say, at the latest, by the 3rd year.
We upgraded our JCP to a larger tub and he seems to want more space already. We got a 7' ficus tree that we let him climb on occasion, when he's out. Now he's spoiled and doesn't want to go back in his tub!
