Odd...
First time ive seen this, sorry if its already been posted
http://www.aolnews.com/science/artic...nts%2F19509509
This is the only part I found interesting, and that sums everything up.
Snakes are the top predator of pests like rats and mice in habitats such as rice paddies, and their decline could lead to wider consequences, the scientists suggest. Those dropping in numbers -- some by more than 90 percent -- include the asp and the smooth snake from Europe, the Gabon viper and rhinoceros viper from West Africa, and the royal python

Thats what I was wondering, which is why I brought this up. the article was a little confusing and to me not well written, especially when it came to staying on focus, or giving more details as to why.

Yeah, I agree, you have to read it a few times to begin to understand what it's trying to say.
If that IS what it is saying, then that's certainly sad.

The line is: "Those dropping in numbers -- some by more than 90 percent -- include the asp and the smooth snake from Europe, the Gabon viper and rhinoceros viper from West Africa, and the royal python "
That means that all the species listed above are "dropping in numbers" and that "some" have dropped more than 90%. It doesn't mean that all those species have dropped more than 90%. Just to be clear.
