    Pre-Shed Advise

hello! i thought id make a thread on what you could do to prevent bad sheds from happening.since i started this i have had 100% perfect sheds.this is to be done as soon as you can tell your snake is going into shed.

1.start by getting some sphagnum moss and a water bottle
2.grab a chunk of moss and mist it with water
3.put the chunck of moist moss in the corner of your snakes hide.(you may have to mist the moss every couple of days)
4.you are done, and your snake will not only have a great shed but it will enjoy the smell of the dampened moss.

here are some pics just to show ya

    hope this helps!

Thanks for the great post!! I will definitely try this next shed.

Just a few questions on the moss itself:
Where is the best place to pick up sphagnum moss?
Do you just throw away the used clump after your snake has shed, and use a new clump for the next shed?
How long does the bag of moss stay good after it has been opened?

lowes or home depot is a good place to find it.its around 4 dollars for a nice size bag.

yes i toss the moss when the shed is complete

the moss should stay good for a long time, just seal up the bag
