Re: WooHoo!!! Emp scorp having her babies!!!!
Congrats on the babies!
Not that I would ever get one but I find scorpion to be fascinating.
So what is the average number of babies that a female can have?

Re: WooHoo!!! Emp scorp having her babies!!!!
Congrats,
So do you have to feed mamma anything special to get her back into tip top shape and to help her feed the babies?
One of my friends thought his was overweight so cut right back on the feeding - then she had babies and ate them.
This was back in the day mind you and he was just learning - would have been around 1990 if I'm remembering right.

As soon as the babies have their first molt and climb off her back I will put them all in their own containers. And with the mom I am just going to feed her gut loaded crickets and meal worms as much as she wants to eat. She was a beast before she had the babies (she was in a tank with a male and another female, started plumping up and became aggressice towards the other two and started claiming territory and that is why I thought she was gravid and moved her to her own 5 gallon tank). She stopped eating on her own for awhile (and never lost any weight whatsoever - another reason I thought she was gravid). Before she stopped eating she was a VERY good eater so I hope she eats all the food I give her and not the babies. I will be babying her and hopefully in turn she will baby her babies - lol
That stinks that happened to your friend!!! That was a loooong time ago
